Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a tip?
Multiply the bill amount by the tip percentage and divide by 100. For example, a 20% tip on a $50 bill is $50 × 20 ÷ 100 = $10.
Does the per-person amount include the tip?
Yes. The per-person amount divides the full bill plus tip by the number of people, so everyone pays an equal share of the total.
What if I want to tip more than 20%?
Select the custom tip option and enter any percentage you like. The calculator updates the totals as soon as you type.
